About Me
Hello - I’m Grace, Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and someone who knows that seeking therapy can feel like a huge, confusing, step.

I have faced my share of twists and turns in life, and I’ve been where you might be right now, feeling unsure, weighing up whether to reach out, wondering if anyone will really “get me”. I’m a late-diagnosed autistic and ADHD cis woman, and I know first-hand how overwhelming it can feel when the world doesn’t quite fit you, and how powerful it can be to find true understanding and connection. That lived experience is central to my work, and I bring it alongside my professional training to create a space where you can feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. I know how daunting this part can be, but I also know how deeply transformative therapy can be, especially when it’s grounded in compassion and real human connection. Over the years, I’ve worked with several therapists myself, each one different, yet all helping me reconnect with parts of myself I had lost along the way.

My own path into becoming a counsellor wasn’t a straightforward one. Like many others, I followed the expected route - heading to university straight after college because it felt like what I was “supposed” to do. I moved far from home and soon realised it wasn’t right for me, leaving by Christmas and spending the next few years working in hospitality, retail, property, and sales.

Although those roles gave me valuable life experience and people skills, something still felt missing. I decided to explore counselling by completing a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, and that’s where I re-discovered my passion. From there, I returned to study, completing a BSc (Hons) in Psychology with Counselling with The Open University, which allowed me to balance real life, work, and study.
I then went on to gain an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Keele University, during which I worked across a variety of placements, supporting adults through charities, GP surgeries (within the NHS), and remote settings. Since qualifying, I’ve also gained experience counselling children and young people in both school and community settings, and I’ve completed a Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People to deepen this work.

Alongside my private practice, I work as a Lecturer in Counselling at Birmingham City University, and I’m a registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Continuing professional development is very important to me; I regularly attend workshops, conferences, and online training to keep learning and refining my practice.

All of these experiences (the academic, the professional, and the deeply personal) shape the therapist I am today. In my private practice, I work with adults, drawing on my varied background to offer a grounded, flexible, and empathetic approach. Having worked with such a wide range of people and settings, I understand how life’s early pressures, expectations, and experiences can shape who we become.

I’m passionate about helping clients reconnect with themselves, find clarity, and build a stronger sense of self. My approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and genuine respect for your unique journey and creating a space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and supported.

Outside of my work, I’m a proud cat mom to two mischievous companions who bring endless laughter into my days. I find calm in nature, whether that’s watching cows in the fields near my home or enjoying quiet moments with a cup of tea. I’m also a lifelong lover of Disney and Harry Potter, and I believe deeply in the power of storytelling to remind us that even in the darkest times, light can always be found.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed by expectations, or ready to reconnect with who you truly are, I’d love to walk alongside you on your journey of self-exploration. Therapy is offered online or by phone, so we can connect wherever you feel most comfortable.
